Bahrian Petroleum Company (BAPCO) employees have saved the refinery more than US$16 million since its staff suggestion scheme was launched in 1996. The figure was revealed as the company held its first 'A Good Idea Exhibition,' featuring the best suggestions over the last two years. The event took place at the BAPCO Club, Awali, and staff who came up with the ideas also spoke. The scheme offers cash awards to employees for ideas that cut costs, increase customer satisfaction, enhance safety and reduce waste. Seven of the latest winners picked up between US$159 and US$2,519 for their ideas. Acting chief executive Faisal Al Mahroos, other officials, staff and guests attended. – Trade Arabia
