Libya Grants Mauritania Loan


Sidi Walad El Tah, Minister of Economic Affairs and Development of Mauritania signed with Mohamed Abu Ajeel Al Kouni, General Manager of the Libya Fund for aid and development today a financing agreement through which Libya donates Mauritania an amount of US$50 million on a grant non-refundable. The money will be used for health-care, education and to establish a university in the name of Libyan leader, Muammar Gaddafi. He said these projects` implementation will begin during the current year 2010. Mauritanian minister said, "This financing is the first embodiment of the undertakings by the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya during the round table in Brussels to support the program's public investment in Mauritania. - QNA
