Iran imported US$24.2 billion worth of goods during the first five months of 1389 (March 2010-2011), according to figures by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA). The amount shows a 22.21% increase in comparison to the same period in the previous year. Imports from the United Arab Emirates accounted for 31.99% of the nation’s total imports worth US$7.755 billion in the mentioned period. On top of Iran's list of imported goods in the mentioned period was gasoline which accounted for 9.24% of the country's total imports. Iran also exported 26.5 million tons of non-oil goods (including gas condensates) worth US$11.83 billion in the mentioned five-month period. The amount shows 23.86% increase in the terms of value and 22.45% rise in the terms of volume compared to the previous year. China was the main destination for Iranian products. During the period Iran exported US$808.9 million worth of non-oil products to China which accounted for 17.91% of the country’s total exports. - Mehr
